This is software to find out if any network computer is missing a recent but required hotfix.
Network administration to work effectively, you need a central place to check everything on the network. It could be a simple check to find what hardware is available at which stations. Status of software should also need to be available. But, these are some checks you can take up at longer periodicity usually. Besides their license status, there is a need for making sure hotfixes and patches for the OS or some critical software are in place. These hotfixes are released by software makers to cover some vulnerability. The ones that solve some security vulnerability are the important ones. Thus, it is essential to be sure that all such hotfixes has been made at all the stations they are installed in. Network Hotfix Scanner is a free advanced hotfix check utility that will scan the network computers for missing hotfixes and patches on OS and other important software packages. This tool will also help download such patches and apply them.
The interface is quite intuitive and presents color coded information on hotfixes and patches installed or missed on remote computer. The color coding tells you specific security bulletin rating (critical, important, moderate), title, description and bulletin URL. If anybody needs to actually look at the bulletin, he/she could go to the original information right away and confirm that correct procedure has been followed. The details of the patch or the hotfix will possibly suggest a way to test and confirm that it is giving you the intended results. This is a good tool.
